Privacy Policy
This describes what Gruber Enterprises, LLC, trading as DR Inner Circle, collects about you, why, and who else sees it. It covers the website and the members area.
1.The short version
We collect what we need to run a paid membership and no more. We do not sell your data. There are no advertising trackers, no analytics pixels and no third-party marketing scripts on this site, which is why you are not being asked to accept cookies.
The two things worth reading properly are section 3, because the enquiry form on the homepage sends what you type into a WhatsApp group, and section 5, because other members can see parts of your profile.
2.What we collect when you are a member
- Account. Your email address and your name. If you joined before the members area existed, these came across from the payment records for your existing membership.
- Profile. Anything you choose to add: display name, short bio, the region you are in or headed for, a profile photo, and website, Instagram or LinkedIn links. All optional, all editable, all removable.
- Billing. Your subscription status, plan, renewal dates and the identifiers Stripe uses for your customer and subscription records. We never see or store your card number. Card details go directly to Stripe and stay there.
- What you post. Community posts, comments, likes, event RSVPs, and any points those earn.
- What you report. When you tell us an article is wrong or something is broken, we keep what you wrote, your email address, and which page you were on. A bug report also carries your browser and window size, which is how we reproduce the fault. We keep these after they are dealt with, because the record of what was wrong is the reason it got fixed.
- Ask D.ROD. The questions you ask and the answers given, so the conversation has a history and so we can see where the assistant is answering badly.
- Membership card. Your member number and the private token behind the card’s QR code.
- Progress. Which lessons you have opened or completed, and how far through onboarding you are.
3.The enquiry form on the homepage
If you fill in the enquiry form on the public site, you give us your name, phone number, email address and message.
That enquiry is delivered into a private WhatsApp group run by the DR Inner Circle team, using a third-party WhatsApp service. It is how somebody gets back to you quickly rather than in three days. It also means your details sit in a group chat that several people on the team can read, and in that service’s systems. If you would rather that did not happen, email us at community@jamiegruber.com instead of using the form.
4.Technical information
We record the IP address of anyone submitting the enquiry form or attempting to create an account, and how many attempts came from it. This exists to stop bulk signup abuse and form spam, it is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not linked to your browsing.
The site stores a few things in your browser: a session cookie so you stay signed in, and small preferences such as your chosen theme and language. These are needed for the site to work. None of them track you across other websites.
We measure how the members area is used. While you have a members page open and in front of you, the site records how long that is, and it records each time you sign in. It is used to see which parts of the membership are worth keeping and who might need a hand getting started. This is ours alone: it is stored in our own database, it sets no cookie, no third party is involved, and none of it is used for advertising or shared with anyone. It is never shown to other members.
5.What other members can see
Some of this is deliberately public inside the membership, because a private community where nobody can see who anybody is does not work. Other members can see your display name, your photo, your bio, your region, any links you added, and anything you post.
You control this. Your profile has a visibility setting, and you can leave the optional fields empty or clear them at any time from your profile. Your email address and your billing details are never shown to other members.
A profile photo is about as private as one on any social profile: it is shown beside your posts and in member listings, and it is served from a public address, though that address is a random string that does not contain your name or your account id. Do not put a document or anything confidential in it.
6.Why we are allowed to hold it
We process this information to provide the membership you bought, to take payment for it, to keep the community safe and free of abuse, and to answer you when you get in touch. Where the law requires a lawful basis, ours is the performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interest in running the service securely.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use it to train public AI models.
7.Who else processes it
We use a small number of suppliers to run the service. They act on our instructions and only get what they need for their part:
- Stripe for payments, subscriptions and the billing portal. Your card details live here, not with us.
- Supabase for the database, sign-in, and file storage including profile photos.
- Resend for the emails the service has to send you, such as sign-in links and password resets.
- Bunny Stream for hosting and delivering the video library.
- Whapi for delivering homepage enquiries into WhatsApp, as described in section 3.
- Google for maps and location imagery, where the product shows a map of places.
- Railway for hosting the application itself.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
8.Where it is held
Our suppliers store and process data on servers in the United States. If you are in the Dominican Republic, the European Union or elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not offer the same protections as your own country. By using the service you understand that this transfer takes place.
9.How long we keep it
We keep your account and profile for as long as you are a member. If you cancel, we keep the record of your membership and payments while there is a reason to, such as tax and accounting obligations or a possible dispute, and then remove it.
If you ask us to delete your account we will do so, other than information we are required to keep. Posts you made in the community may remain visible with your name removed, because deleting one side of a conversation makes the rest of it unreadable for everyone who took part. Say so if you want your posts removed too and we will do that as well.
Backups are kept on a rolling cycle and deleted content ages out of them rather than being erased the same day.
10.What you can ask for
You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your account and your data;
- stop using your information for a particular purpose;
- give you your data in a portable form, or send it somewhere else.
Email community@jamiegruber.com from the address on your account and we will deal with it. We will not charge you and we will not make it difficult. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator.
Much of this you can do yourself and immediately: your profile is editable from inside the members area, and Settings & billing opens your billing records.
11.Children
The membership is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will remove it.
12.Security, honestly stated
Sign-in, payment and file access are handled by established providers rather than built by us, access to member records is restricted, and member-only routes are closed on the server rather than merely hidden in the interface. No service can promise it will never be breached. If a breach affects you we will tell you.
13.Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. If the change is significant we will tell you inside the members area or by email rather than quietly editing the page.
14.Contact
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy go to community@jamiegruber.com. See also the Terms of Service.
