Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Gruber Enterprises, LLC, a Michigan limited liability company trading as DR Inner Circle. By joining, paying for or using the membership you accept them.
1.What the membership is
DR Inner Circle is a paid private membership for people moving to, investing in, or considering the Dominican Republic. Depending on what is switched on at any time, membership can include live sessions and replays, a video library, written guides, a members’ calendar, a vendor directory, a member community, a member discount card, and Ask D.ROD, an assistant that answers from the community’s own material.
What is included can change while you are a member. Sections may be added, changed or switched off as the community develops. We will not remove so much that the membership stops being recognisably what you paid for, and if we do make a significant reduction you may cancel under section 5.
2.Who can join
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. One membership is for one person. A Couples membership covers two people in one household and provides a second seat for that second person.
Your login is yours alone. Do not share it, and do not give anybody else access to member-only material. The membership, the discount card and the member number attached to them are not transferable.
3.Nothing here is professional advice
This is the most important section on the page, so it is not buried at the bottom.
DR Inner Circle is a community sharing experience and opinion. Nothing in it is legal, tax, immigration, medical, real-estate or investment advice, and nobody providing it is acting as your adviser. That applies to the calls, the library, the written guides, the community, the directory and anything Ask D.ROD tells you.
Moving money or moving country carries real risk. Property purchase, residency, tax residency and business formation in the Dominican Republic are governed by Dominican law and change over time. Take professional advice from someone licensed in the relevant jurisdiction before you act, and treat what you read here as a starting point for that conversation rather than a substitute for it.
Ask D.ROD can be wrong. It answers from community material and produces its answers automatically. Do not rely on it for anything that matters without checking the underlying source.
4.Price, billing and renewal
Memberships are sold as a monthly or annual subscription and are processed by Stripe. Current published prices are $12 per month or $100 per year for Single Access, and $18 per month or $160 per year for Couples Access, in US dollars.
Your price is the price you joined at. Members who joined on an earlier price keep it for as long as their subscription stays active and uninterrupted. If you cancel and rejoin later, you rejoin at the price published then.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. If we change the price of an existing membership we will tell you before it takes effect and you will have the chance to cancel first.
If a payment fails we may retry it, and access continues for a short grace period while that happens so a card that has simply expired does not lock you out the same day. If it keeps failing, access ends.
5.Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Settings & billing inside the members area, which opens your billing portal. You do not have to email anybody and you do not have to give a reason.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops. If you change your mind before that date you can restart from the same place.
Payments already made are not refunded, and we do not part-refund the unused months of an annual term. Cancelling is how you stop paying, and it takes effect from the next renewal.
If something has actually gone wrong, that is a different conversation and we would rather have it. If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, charged for a plan you did not choose, or could not get into something your membership includes, write to community@jamiegruber.com and we will fix it and refund it. That is not a favour, it is what should have happened in the first place.
If a charge looks wrong, email us before your bank does. We can usually sort it the same day. A chargeback raised without contacting us takes weeks, costs us a fee whatever the outcome, and closes the account it was raised against, which is a slower and worse result for you than asking.
6.How to behave here
The community only works because members speak openly about money, plans and mistakes. That depends on everyone. You agree not to:
- republish, screenshot or forward another member’s posts, details or anything said on a call outside the membership;
- harass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or post content that is illegal, hateful or sexually explicit;
- pitch, spam, cold-message or scrape members, or use the community or directory as a lead list;
- impersonate anybody, or misrepresent your credentials, licences or track record;
- share your login, resell access, or copy member-only material out of the membership;
- attempt to break, overload, probe or work around any technical restriction on the service.
We can remove content and suspend or end a membership that breaches this section. Where the breach is serious, we can do so immediately and without a refund.
7.Content: yours and ours
What you post stays yours. By posting it you give us permission to display, store and distribute it inside the membership so the service can work, and to keep operational backups. That permission ends when your content is deleted, apart from backups that age out on their normal cycle.
What we publish stays ours. Calls, replays, guides, library material, the knowledge base and the software are owned by us or our licensors. Your membership is a personal, non-transferable licence to use them while it is active. It is not permission to republish, resell, or use them to build a competing product, and it does not survive your membership ending.
If you believe something here infringes your copyright, write to community@jamiegruber.com with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears.
8.Other members, partners and discounts
Members post their own opinions and the vendor directory lists businesses we do not control. We do not endorse, vet the licensing of, or stand behind any member, vendor, partner or introduction made here. Anything you agree with another member or a listed business is between you and them.
Partner discounts offered against the member card are set and honoured by those partners, not by us. They can change or withdraw them, and a partner declining a discount is not a failure of your membership.
9.Availability
We work to keep the service running but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, third-party outages and faults happen. The service is provided “as is” and, to the fullest extent the law allows, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
10.Limits on what we owe you
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except where the law does not allow it to be limited:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from a decision you made about money, property, residency or relocation;
- our total liability to you for any claim connected with the membership is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.
11.Ending the membership
You can end it at any time under section 5. We can end or suspend it if you breach these terms, if your payment fails and is not fixed, or if we stop offering the membership. If we end it because we are stopping the service, we will refund the unused portion of what you have paid.
When a membership ends you lose access to member-only material and to the community. Sections 3, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13 survive.
12.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when we do. If a change materially reduces your rights we will give notice inside the members area or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the membership after that means you accept the updated terms.
13.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
14.Contact
