They stay for the community
I followed the Inner Circle playbook of how to buy and live in the DR. I rented a month in Juan Dolio, then a month in Cabarete, and that vibe fit me very well. I worked with an Inner Circle affiliated realtor and purchased a place within 30 days. I have a much better lifestyle in the DR, and it is still cheaper than living in Canada.
Searching for my roots led me to Jamie's videos, and soon after I joined the Inner Circle. What I thought was just an educational group turned out to be an extraordinary community. They helped me with everything from securing my birth certificate and understanding the cédula to accessing veteran services and smart investing. I came looking for my history, and I found a family of friends.
I lived in the DR for 7 years, but a lot has changed, and as I plan my move back the community has been invaluable. I'd been trying to reach a couple of banks I have accounts with and couldn't get anyone to call or email me back. Jamie shared a contact at Banco López de Haro, I emailed, and had a same-day response helping me get accounts opened. That kind of direct access to real contacts is something you can't just Google.
Since joining the Inner Circle we have discovered, learned and talked about so many things we will need to know once we start living in Punta Cana. We have bought a pre-construction condo, and the information from Jamie and the members helped guide us in the right direction. Being out of the country we are not there building the relationships yet, so this helps fast track things.
Jamie has a unique ability to share information in a straightforward and relatable way: the good, the bad, what has worked for him, what hasn't, and what he has learned along the way. He doesn't pretend that one answer is right for everyone. The people I meet through the Inner Circle ask thoughtful questions and are looking for more than just the highlight reel.
I joined back in September 2025 and have received value from the community since day one. Not only has there been economic value, but social value; I am part of a REAL community that meets face to face, digitally, and by video. The Inner Circle has made living in the DR easier, smoother and dare I say more fun!
Jamie's Inner Circle has been an invaluable resource, offering clear guidance and insider knowledge that helps expats and absent Dominicans navigate the transition to life in the Dominican Republic with confidence and ease.
